Getting Things Done!

I've been meaning to do this for soo long! And for reason upon reason just haven't gotten around to it. But now it is started...my focus wall!

It's one of things I can just keep adding to! The frames are from Tiger (10x15cm) and Hobbycraft (square ones)! The beautiful fox plaque I picked up from a small boutique shop, but it's from Sass & Belle. The rest of the pictures are a combinations of postcards from Paperchase, my own photos, and Project Life cards.

Can't wait to add to it! If anyone has any suggestions on things to add to it, or where to get cute little postcards, etc. that would be ideal, let me know!

Happy New Year!

Excuse the clicheness of this however...Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great 2015 and roll on 2016. This new year holds some very promising things so we will see! May it be an adventure!

So the preparations for going out for New Years Eve started with me getting back from work and debating whether to have a nap or not...instead I decided to paint my nails! I'm in love with Barry M Speedy Nail Paint in Dragster. It's a beautiful dark grey that makes nails look stunning! Now when I paint my nails I'm so impatient so I always tend to go for quick dry polishes just to make the process a whole lot easier! And because it was New Years there had to be a bit of sparkle going on! So I grabbed a good old washing up sponge, cut a corner off, dipped the little wedge into the festive sparkly Pantone Universe silver polish (can't find it anywhere online, but any sparkly polish would do!) and worked from the top of my nail down to create sparkly tips. I was impressed that I painted both hands without a single cockup! Win!

New Years wouldn't be right without a red lip, so I donned the trusted Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Personne ne Rouge and started the night with a well deserved g&t!

A Glorious Cleanse And Polish?

Since the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish came into my life, it changed the way I removed my makeup. Gone were the days of the dreaded makeup wipes, yes I know, don't do it! As much as I love the C&P, I'm always up for trying new things! I also love the Garnier Micellar Water for removing makeup.

I found the Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk on the shelves of Boots and thought I'd give it a go! I love the name of this, it's super cute! Well aren't all Soap and Glory products the same?! It has a scent to it that won't be for everyone. The first time I used it I could feel my skin tingle and become a bit sensitive to the fragrance. But when it came to removing makeup, the products are pretty much identical. Waterproof mascara - not a problem! Because its a cleansing milk, it's quite a runny consistency. I rub it between my fingers and massage it into my face, leaving my eyes till last; using the last bit of product to remove any eye makeup. There's nothing worse than getting products in your eyes! I then use a trusty muslin cloth to wipe away all of the product.
My skin felt so clean and fresh after the first use.

When it comes to price, this is a great alternative to the LE Cleanse and Polish. It comes in at £8 - and you get a whopping 350ml of product. The Cleanse and Polish is £14 for 100ml.

I'd recommend both products completely! If you have more sensitive skin, Cleanse and Polish is probably the one for you. But if you're wanting something a little better on price point give the Cleansing Milk a go!

Camping Essentials!

Ok, I want to get one thing out the way before this post continues...Sorry for being MIA for a while. The blog headed onto the back burner for a few more pressing things, but I'm back! And here to stay!

So a few weeks ago I went on a camping trip. I was so looking forward to relaxing, not worrying about anything and getting to see a new place! All of those things happened, and it was so lovely! In fact I had a makeup free week and loved it! I took the time to focus more on my skin. Giving it a week to breathe, and just soak up the fresh air and all the good stuff!

The night before we left, I cleansed my face with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and applied the beautiful Monu Hawaii Facial Treatment Oil. Massaging it into my face in circular motions gave me the perfect start to a relaxing week off!

Whilst away the two products I appreciated the most were the Benefit Dream Screen and the Sanctuary Spa Pore Refining Toner. It got really sunny a few days and Dream Screen came to the rescue to keep my face protected from the rays! It's SPF 45 and oil free, so you know you're covered, yet at the same time don't feel caked in sun cream and you don't experience that horrible sweaty feeling!
Now camping involves tents, obviously. Tents get incredibly hot when the sun makes an appearance. The life safer was the refreshing spritz of the SS Toner! Just what you need when you feel a bit hot and flustered! Perfect!

In the mornings I applied the La Roche-Posay Anti-Redness Moisturizer. It too has SPF in it, so added protection! I love this moisturiser, I find it's a great base for makeup as well! And in the evenings I applied the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I have no bad words for this product!

So I kept it simple, but took the necessities, and found the perfect combination for camping!

Favourite Polishes!

Since my Nails in need of TLC! post, I've been trying my hardest to take care of my nails. I've had a few great attempts and a couple of horrible, horrible failures!

I feel it's all about finding a nail polish you really want to wear; almost like when you're on a diet and have a 'goal outfit' to fit into...sort of haha. Essie Maximillian Strasse Her is that shade for me! I've not quite got there on my finger nails yet, however, I've been loving it on my toes! The open toed shoes have made an appearance and therefore painting my toe nails doesn't seem pointless - woo summer!

I've also been loving the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blue Grape. A beautiful deep royal blue shade. If you use this make sure to use a base coat first, as it tends to stain your nails and hang around for a while after, despite the best effort to remove it!

Currently on my toes is another one from the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine range and it is the shade Almond. Its a very easy to wear shade, that is quite sophisticated and chic. It's a good dupe for Nails Inc. Porchester Square!

Try Origins In Minis!

When pursuing my local Boots Origins counter I found this beautiful little package! The Origins Essentials Only set. The perfect way to try more from Origins for less! After trying the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask I was eager to try more!

I've heard a lot about the GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer and that was the next thing on my list of things to try. It has a orangey scent to it which I was slightly unsure of to begin with, but I can deal with it. My skin was left feeling refreshed and had a bit more of a glow - which is always a win!

The Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash is designed for oily and dry skin so anyone can use it! It has properties to help both and doesn't damage anything in the process. Broadleaf kelp is the ingredient that breaks down all the dirt and crap that everyone wants to get rid of, and leaves your skin feeling comfortably clean; not like some face wash/cleansers that leave you with that tight, 'every bit of moisture and goodness has been sucked out and it's not coming back for a while' feeling!

Now the Clear Improvement active charcoal mask is one I've seen a lot on the Origins Instagram. That is always a good thing because it means people must love it! It's recommended to use it once a week, or when needed. The active charcoal is natures magnet and draws out anything and everything that shouldn't be taking home in those pores! I've used this once so far and I liked it, but I need to use it a few more times to get a proper feel for it!

Modern Friction is a product I feel like I should've known about a while ago and picked up long before now! Known as 'Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion' is gets rid of all the dry patches, unevenness and discolouration - perfect! I love this product so much! Even after the first try, I was head over heals! It leaves skin feeling so refreshed and smooth but without any harshness. It's so gentle! Pick it up now!

Have you tried these lovelies? Let me know what you thought!
