Keeping It Simple: Makeup

So for the days when you don't have enough time or can't be bothered to apply a complicated layered face of makeup, this is my go to look!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is my flawless base of choice! I have the colour Deauville. I was recommended this by a friend and I'm glad I took her advice! It evens out skin tone and sorts out any imperfections you have, like they weren't even there to begin with! I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush (part of the core collection) to apply it, and smooth out with my fingers after for a more natural finish. I pair it with the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in 01 Ivory. The colour and coverage is spot on! My dark circles disappear, spots vanish and my complexion looks all together brighter. Then to give some shape to my face and a bit of a bronzy glow, I reach for the Sleek Contouring and Blush Palette in Light 373. I take the contour shade on a Real Techniques Contour Brush (also in the core collection), and in a figure of 3 shape run it from my forehead to my cheek bones and across my jawline.
Base done!

Eyebrows were never a thing I bothered with previously, now, I can't leave the house without a little bit of product run through them. My face feels somewhat naked without it. I started off with the standard angled brush and powder, then discovered the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint in Brownie Points. This product makes it so much easier and quicker to give a natural looking brow. To fill them out and give them some staying power I run the Model Co More Brows Gel through them. I like this product, however I feel it can leave things looking a bit crispy. Need to find a replacement for it! An alternative would be to use a clear mascara. I find when it comes to clear mascaras the cheap ones are pretty much equal to the high end ones, I tend to pick up the Seventeen Clear Definition Mascara.

For that simple eye makeup, I reach for the MUA Undress Me Too Palette. This gorgeous palette is only £4.00 and has 12 well pigmented shades. I take Lavish* and run it through the crease and outer corner for definition; and for that extra bit of warmth take the contour colour from the Sleek palette and do the same. I apply these with the fluffy Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush; perfect for blending eyeshadow to soft edges.

A simple look wouldn't be complete for me without beautiful lashes. I use the Essence I Love Crazy Volume Mascara. This literally gives your lashes 'crazy volume' without clumps! I always use more than one mascara, I just can't help myself! I pair it with the No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara. I have the mini version of this, and it's great for bottom lashes and separating top lashes out to give the ultimate flutter!

I finish everything off with the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in 52 Vanilla. This is my favourite powder that I've found. I was a devout lover of the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent, but the Bourjois powder is much more mattifying and has the staying power throughout the day. Also the added colour gives that extra bit more coverage that ends up giving the face a flawless look!

Any suggestions on trying a different brow gel? And what are your go to 'Keeping It Simple' products?
